VISIBILITY AND VITALITY

What is this project about?

This project is about strengthening a community-based social enterprise that generates resources for women and their dependants rebuilding after violence.

Why is this project important to the community?

Interlude’s thrift store is more than a retail space—it is a community-based social enterprise that helps generate resources for women and their dependants rebuilding their lives after intimate partner violence.
When a woman leaves an abusive home, she may have to start over with very little. Basic needs such as clothing, household items and furniture can become significant barriers to establishing a safe and stable home. At the same time, many of the practical supports women need during this transition are not funded, despite being essential to rebuilding their lives.
The Visibility and Vitality Project will increase awareness of our thrift store, attract new customers and donors, and strengthen community participation. By connecting everyday purchases and donations to a meaningful social purpose, we can encourage residents to shop, donate, volunteer and become ambassadors for our mission.
A more visible and successful thrift store will generate additional revenue that can be reinvested into essential, unfunded supports for women and their dependants. This creates a sustainable cycle where community participation directly contributes to community well-being.
