St. George's is currently redeveloping our 1870s Carriage House, a historic building within the Village of Clarksburg, Ontario. This building was originally used to house the horses and carriages of the membership of St. George's church up until the introduction of the automobile.
Throughout the 1990s and up until 2010s this building was used for storage purposes only. In 2016, the congregation was even considering tearing it down. However, in 2024, new leadership among the St. George's Men's Group presented a new vision for this building: to see it become a community space that could be opened up for numerous neighbourhood projects.
In the Town of the Blue Mountains (in which Clarksburg Village resides), there are few community spaces available. Property prices are at a premium and many community groups are being priced out of the market. St. George's Church remains the most affordable venue in Town.
Our Men's Group has been leading a renovation project with the ultimate goal of ultilizing our historic Carriage House as a Community Maker Space and event venue.

This historic building would provide needed community space to meet various needs ranging from wedding receptions; to fund-raising dances; to youth groups; etc.
St. George’s welcomed me when I needed it, and I stayed because of the immense hart of the parish to serve and support the community when and how it’s needed.
St. George’s offers an important community hub, building relationships and offering services to those around it. Their initiatives benefit many in the area.
St. George’s is a welcoming hub where the Blue Mountains community comes together to give back, connect, and grow.
From the annual plant sale to the annual Fish Fry, St Georges is always there to help the community.
