Pickleball Courts for Grey Highlands

What is this project about?

The Flesherton Pickleball Courts project is a community-led initiative to build four dedicated courts in the heart of Grey Highlands. This vision is being brought to life through a powerful partnership between the Municipality of Grey Highlands and the Pickleball Club of Grey Highlands, a passionate group of residents who believe in the power of play to bring people together. With over $65,000 raised in just six months and a $50,000 commitment from the Municipality, the momentum behind this project is real and growing.
Pickleball is a sport like no other. It connects generations and inspires communities. Whether you're eight or eighty, the game offers a fun, accessible way to stay active, socialize, and build community. The Pickleball Club is especially committed to creating opportunities for youth, ensuring that these courts will be a place where young people can learn, grow, and thrive. Intergenerational play is at the heart of this project, fostering relationships and resilience through shared experiences.
These courts will be a lasting legacy of what happens when a community comes together with purpose. They will inspire movement, friendship, and pride in Grey Highlands. With your support, we can build a space that brings good things to life.

Why is this project important to the community?

This project matters because it reflects the spirit of Grey Highlands, an active, inclusive, and community-driven place full of people who dream big and work to make it happen. The new pickleball courts will provide a safe, accessible space for people of all ages to gather, play, and connect. In a time when rural communities are seeking ways to promote health and togetherness, these courts offer a meaningful solution that supports both physical activity and social engagement.
Pickleball is unique in its ability to bridge generations. Grandparents play alongside grandchildren, teens, challenge adults, and newcomers find instant community through shared play. The Pickleball Club of Grey Highlands is deeply committed to youth involvement, and these courts will be a place where young people can learn new skills, build confidence, and feel a sense of belonging. The courts will also support seniors in staying active and socially connected, contributing to overall well-being.
This recreation project is an inspiring investment in the social fabric of Grey Highlands. The courts will become a hub of energy, friendship, and opportunity. They will build pride, encourage participation, and bring good things to our community for generations to come.
