Panther Playground Project

What is this project about?

The Panther Playground Project is designed to build an engaging and interactive playground on our school yard for the students to play on. All of our play equipment failed inspection last year and it was torn out and carted away in a trailer. This left our school yard bare and with nothing for the students to do or play on at recess. We have been raising money and have $51,000 in the bank and are hoping to fundraise the remaining $49,000 this year and next so we can build a playground for the students.

Why is this project important to the community?

This is an important project because we are a rural school in a farming community and all of our students are bused to school. Kids need to have play equipment at school to play on to be creative, active, and have fun on their activity breaks and recess. Most kids live in the country with no parks for miles and having a playground at school is imperative to help these rural children grow and develop. Funding is tight and there is not enough funding to provide playgrounds for schools anymore and the task if we want a playground has fallen on a few eager people to raise the funds to build it.
