Office Skills Training Hub

What is this project about?

This project will create a training office by equipping an office trailer with computers, printers, phones, and adaptive tools so individuals with disabilities can learn and practice real office skills. The trailer will serve as an accessible training space that is more central to the different communities across Georgina and East Gwillimbury.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in data entry, filing, scheduling, digital communication, and marketing using various media in a supportive, inclusive environment. The project helps individuals build confidence, independence, and employable skills that can open doors to employment or volunteer opportunities.

Why is this project important to the community?

Many individuals with disabilities in our area face barriers to education, transportation, and employment. By making training more locally available, this project removes those barriers and ensures that no one is left out of learning opportunities.
It also strengthens our community’s sense of inclusion and compassion by showing that everyone deserves a chance to learn and contribute. Families, caregivers, and local organizations benefit too, as trained participants can assist with administrative tasks, volunteer work, and community events. This project empowers participants while building a more connected and resilient community.
