New Summer Bunk Cabins

What is this project about?

Following the successful renovation of Camp Endobanah's fully accessible, all-season main lodge and washrooms, demand for both summer and off-season programming has surged. To sustain this growth and meet the overwhelming need for overnight stays, we must address critical issues with our accommodations. Our project targets the immediate replacement of four 75-year-old cabins that are structurally deficient, non-compliant with current Building and Health Department codes, and suffer from poor ventilation—a growing concern as summers become hotter. These restrictions have currently reduced our capacity by 10 beds. Replacing them with four new, properly ventilated cabins, complete with bunk beds and mattresses, will not only ensure camper safety and comfort but also allow us to restore and expand our capacity from 98 to 108 overnight spaces. This vital upgrade reinforces our goal to expand community outreach by providing reliable, flexible lodging options and an exceptional camping experience.

Why is this project important to the community?

Camp Endobanah serves a key function in the community by offering a reliable property where local groups can operate their essential camp programs. Increasing the available sleeping capacity will have an immediate impact: during the summer period alone, this project will allow an additional 60 campers to attend summer camp.

Our mission is to maintain an inviting, affordable, safe, inclusive, and enjoyable space for all. The new cabins are designed to ensure comfort and efficiency, replacing poor-condition buildings with structures that offer a better overall experience. A core benefit is the introduction of flexible, fully accessible lodging. The new cabin layout includes separate sleeping areas, which provides necessary privacy for groups with mixed genders, families, or those requiring separated counselor/camper spaces. Successful completion of this project expands overnight camp capacity and significantly improves the quality of our lodging, allowing all renting organizations to maximize camp utilization and meet the rising demand for safe, comfortable, and inclusive overnight camp experiences.
