As the Lindsay Skating Club proudly enters its 80th season, we remain committed to advancing the quality, accessibility, and long term sustainability of skating in Lindsay and the surrounding communities. Now in the final year of Skate Ontario’s Club Modernization Pilot Program, our goal is to not only uphold the high standards we have achieved, but to exceed them—delivering exceptional programming that more families can access and enjoy.
To support this vision, we aim to continue enhancing our off ice training equipment, which plays a vital role in developing physical literacy and overall athletic readiness. These skills benefit skaters both on and off the ice, contributing to healthier, more confident youth.
Additionally, we are seeking support to reduce financial barriers by sponsoring local children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn to skate and discover a lifelong passion for the sport.
The financial demands of operating cost effective programming continue to rise, particularly in relation to ice rental fees. Our board is committed to minimizing the impact of these increases on families. With additional funding, we can offset these operational costs and maintain affordable programming that reflects the needs and realities of our community. Across Ontario, many rural skating clubs have been forced to scale back or close due to rising expenses that exceeded what families could reasonably sustain. We are determined to ensure that Lindsay remains a vibrant exception.
Our focus is clear: reinvest in our club, invest in our skaters, and expand access to high quality, affordable programming. With your support, we can continue building a strong, inclusive skating community for the next generation—and the next 80 years.
