Oxford County Library is seeking funding to purchase and install Study Pods at its Ingersoll and Norwich branches to help create welcoming spaces that support community learning, skill development, and lifelong education.
As community learning increasingly takes place online and outside of traditional classrooms, library users need access to quiet, flexible environments where they can focus, participate in virtual programs and appointments, complete coursework, and explore new skills. The proposed study pods will provide dedicated spaces for students, adult learners, job seekers, tutors, homeschooling families, and community members pursuing personal or professional development.
The Ingersoll branch, one of the library system's busiest locations, serves a diverse and growing population with a strong demand for quiet spaces to study and access technology. A pod will expand opportunities for independent learning, virtual training, and educational programming within the branch.
The Norwich branch serves a rural community where access to dedicated learning and workspaces can be limited. As a key community hub, the library provides residents with access to technology, information, and educational resources close to home. A pod will help ensure community members have an accessible space to participate in online courses, complete assignments, and connect with educational or professional opportunities.
By enhancing existing library spaces, this project will strengthen Oxford County Library's role in lifelong learning, improve access to opportunities, and help residents build the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in their communities.
