BrightStart Caledon Family Centre is expanding its successful Let’s Get Together program to include children aged 7–12 and their families. This program provides inclusive, age-appropriate activities for children while parents and caregivers connect through guided discussions, workshops, and peer support.
Families of older children have expressed a strong need for continued connection, advocacy resources, and community belonging as their children transition into school years. The expanded program will run twice a month alternating with our existing 0–8 program, to ensure consistent access for all families.
Each session will offer structured learning experiences for children, parent/caregiver networking, and guest presentations focused on advocacy, education, and family well-being, building stronger, more resilient families and communities.
Families raising children with diverse abilities often face limited access to community programs once children enter school. This can lead to isolation, reduced opportunities for social connection, and fewer supports for parents navigating new systems.
By expanding Let’s Get Together, BrightStart Caledon will provide ongoing, inclusive programming that bridges this gap, helping children strengthen social and emotional skills, and ensuring parents remain supported, informed, and connected.
