Hillcrest P.S. Audio Equipment Upgrade

What is this project about?

We are raising funds to help replace the school gymnasium audio equipment for the 2025/2026 school year. The equipment is outdated, damaged and can not be repaired. The use of the gymnasium for assemblies, spelling bees, speeches, guest speakers, school band and dance performances, as well as graduation are well attended and enjoyed however in the past year technical difficulties with audio equipment has resulted in borrowing equipment and experiences were a speaker has had to project their voice due to microphone or speaker not working. We want to ensure students and guests to the school can engage in the activity they are attending and for staff to have equipment that functions as well equipment that is inclusive of an FM Hearing System for those who have a cochlear implant. Each year Hillcrest P.S. is increasing in students as well as opportunities for students to participate in activities in the gym with school assemblies, school band and dance activities we want each time to be a success as well as have the appropriate audio equipment to make the experience enjoyable for all.

Why is this project important to the community?

Trent Hills is known for its arts and culture community focus. Hillcrest Public School is committed to education as well as supporting young artists as they explore and build their talent starting in elementary school either in band, dance, performing arts or talking in front of an audience, having working and upgraded audio equipment will allow the students to experience better quality performances and showcase their talent for the community to see. The project of replacing the audio equipment at Hillcrest Public School is important for our community as having functional and working audio equipment in the gymnasium increases the opportunities for parents as well as individuals in the wider school community to come attend a school event and hear clearly what is said and for the sound to be high performance quality. By having the schools own audio equipment it will eliminate the need to borrow or do without which could mean the school community misses out on a guest speaker, an assembly or an education opportunity.
