Seguin Public Libraries seeks support to expand early literacy opportunities for children and caregivers across our four branches. We plan to replace two aging early literacy computers with reliable, up-to-date equipment and to add a shared collection of VOX Books, Yoto Readers, and Yoto Cards.
These resources will make story-based learning more engaging and accessible for young children. Updated computers will offer interactive early learning activities in the library, while VOX Books and Yoto materials will give families new ways to enjoy stories, music, language, and educational content together at home.
By sharing the collection across all four branches, we will ensure that families throughout the Township of Seguin have local access to high-quality early literacy resources. This project will help children build foundational literacy skills, foster a love of reading, and provide caregivers with practical tools to support learning in everyday life.
Early literacy helps children build the skills and confidence they need for school and lifelong learning. In a rural community like Seguin, it is especially important that families have access to local, affordable resources that support learning at home and at the library.
Seguin Public Libraries’ four branches offer welcoming spaces where children and caregivers can read, explore, and learn together at no cost. Replacing two aging early literacy computers will ensure children continue to have access to engaging educational technology during their library visits. Adding VOX Books, Yoto Readers, and Yoto Cards will give families more opportunities to enjoy stories, music, and language-based learning at home, in the car, or wherever they fit into their daily routines.
By making these resources available across all four branches, this project will help reduce barriers to early literacy support and give more local children the opportunity to discover the joys of reading and learning.
