What is this project about?
As part of our mission to celebrate rural lifestyle and support activities aimed to enrich rural life, Embro & Zorra Agricultural Society has recently begun offering homecraft community workshops in the Embro area. These workshops offer communal experiences while building resiliency through homecraft related skill development . In 2026, we would like to expand our offerings of workshops to include offerings that require specially trained/certified presenters (ie. canning), and invest in specialty equipment to make these workshops possible. With the help of additional funding, we hope to elevate the experience and offerings included, while keeping our community workshops accessible to all by maintaining minimal participation costs.
Why is this project important to the community?
The feedback from the workshops we have already offered has been incredibly positive. Our workshops are often full, and the community has appreciated the opportunities to join together as a community, while also learning new skills. We feel that offering useful skill development opportunities coupled with communal experiences is an excellent way to build resiliency within our community.
