We are seeking funding to improve and modernize our facilities, with a primary focus on enhancing the children's section and creating space for the neurodiverse. As well as expanding overall storage capacity. We will replace mismatched donated furniture with updated, functional seating and tables. Add adult seating in the children's area, making the space more comfortable for caregivers and seniors. Installation of modern cabinets and shelving to safely organize supplies, include S.T.E.A.M materials. Replacing carpeting with durable flooring and washable area rugs to create a cleaner, more hygenic, and easy to maintain environment. The creation of a sensory-friendly room to serve neurodiverse children and others who may be prone to sensory overload. With features to include dimmable lighting, soundproofing, clutter-free design, appropriate seating and calming decor to provide a quiet, serene environment. This space will extend the amount of time neurodiverse patrons can comfortably enjoy the library, fostering inclusion and accessibility. We will be modifying our present staff office to use this space and moving the office to a small staff kitchen area that is not required, thus using our space more efficiently.
Our goal is to create an inclusive, safe, and inspiring environment where children and families can learn, explore, and connect. These renovations will allow us to foster creativity, imagination, literacy and social engagement for all community members.
