Building Community Resiliency & Engagement Through Pickleball: A Six-Court Outdoor Facility for Point Clark

What is this project about?

The Township of Huron-Kinloss, in partnership with the Point Clark community, is developing a permanent six-court outdoor pickleball facility at the Point Clark Community Centre. This project will create a dedicated space for learning, connection, and wellness, meeting the needs of a growing and diverse community.

Why is this project important to the community?

This facility will be more than a set of courts — it will be a community learning hub. Programming will include:

-Beginner lessons and clinics to introduce new players of all ages.
-Youth engagement programs in partnership with local schools, teaching skills, teamwork, and healthy living.
-Seniors’ pickleball programs that promote active aging, social connection, and wellness.
-Adaptive pickleball initiatives for residents with mobility challenges, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
-Volunteer development and training (coaching, officiating, event organizing) to build local leadership capacity.
