Ameliasburgh Fall Fair Tables, Tents, Display Boards and Signage

What is this project about?

Our volunteer committee works all year round to plan and fundraise for the activities at the fall fair, with all the funds raised going directly towards the cost of entertainment, event insurance, and prizes. It is important to keep the entry cost to the fair low and free for all kids, as such we aim to break even every year and have little left over to upgrade or purchase new furniture, fixtures and equipment. This year, we are looking to replace our old, flimsy tables used to display the Youth, Fruit & Vegetable, Floral, and Woodworking exhibits and the Craft show, purchase display boards for the Art & Photography exhibit, purchase shade tents for our outdoor exhibitors, and purchase sturdy and reusable outdoor wayfinding signage.

Why is this project important to the community?

Ameliasburgh is one of the oldest communities in Prince Edward County and this will mark the 171st year since the inception of the fall fair. Through our annual exhibitions we encourage community members to engage their skills in gardening, baking, art, and many different crafts as well as pass those skills on to their children with our youth divisions. Fair day is also a chance for families with children (as well as without) to have a day of novelty, entertainment and community engagement at a very low cost.
